For 2014 I’m planning to feature a lot more typeface reviews and links to either free or discounted fonts on the site. This amazing font pack available from YouWorkForThem, which features a swag of excellent public signage and transit typefaces by URW++ seems a pretty good place to start.

Don’t be fooled by though, even though these typefaces were originally created for traffic, administrative and technical applications they’re also excellent for identity and editorial work too. Time has also imbued these mid-century sans-serifs with a tremendous amount of character, making them anything but a generic typeface choice.

This bundle of fifteen transit fonts already represents a substantial saving, but has been discounted by a further 50% until the end of January. More information available at YouWorkForThem.
