Wonderful work by Your Local Studio for MIX Copenhagen, one of the world’s oldest LGBT film festivals. The studio was charged with helping to develop a new brand identity for the festival, in addition to a range of collateral spanning print and digital such as the programme guide, magazine and responsive website shown below.
Central to this identity is the long exposure photography, which nicely illustrates the blurred lines between gender and sexual orientation, while also establishing a refined aesthetic that the sophisticated use of type beautifully compliments. The dark colour palette further emphasises this elegant look, but the heavy use of coral pink throughout ensures everything feels very contemporary at the same time. I think it’s safe to say the studio certainly achieved their primary goal, which was to ‘effectively communicate with and reach all potential audiences in a way that truly reflects the festival’s uniqueness’.
